G-WIN Series consists of rugged and unusually well-sealed vehicle or stationary-mount Panel PCs available in a wide variety of configurations. Depending on the intended application, G-WIN panels have been available with Multi-touch Projected Capacitive or 5-wire resistive touch displays measuring 7", 8.4", 10.1", 10.4", 12.1", 15" or 19", diagonally. Since the sealed nature and high reliability requirements of the G-Win line precluded fans and cooling slots, G-Win Panel PCs were designed with low power processors that didn't generate a lot of heat. That meant either Intel Cedar Trail, Intel Bay Trail or, more recently, Intel Broadwell processors.

The elegantly designed, yet rugged, industrial grade G-WIN S65 series is designed for usability with brilliant true-flat screens, which offer superior readability and Projected Capacitive Multi-Touch (P-CAP) technology, available in 7”, 10.1”, and 15” options. This series operate on the Freescale Cortex A9 i.MX6 Dual Core Processor with Android 4.4, optional Linux Kernel 4.1.15, QT 5.5 Browser or Ubuntu 16.04. Accompanying Intel Celeron N2930 processor provides user a high-performance solution.

Ruggedness

Ruggedness requirements for a Panel PC are different from those for a mobile tablet or notebook computer. The ever-important drop spec is almost meaningless in a fix-mount panel. Shock, however, can occur, as can vibration. As a result, Winmate did configure the G-WIN panel to be able to pass the MIL-STD-810F 516.5 Procedure I 40g for 11ms saw tooth pulse test, as well as the pertaining MIL-STD-810F 514.5 vibration test. The G-Win can handle a very wide operating temperature range of as low as -13 degrees and as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit (-25 to 60 degrees Celsius).

IP65 Protection

Winmate offers the G-Win 8.4 and 10.4-inch panel in two versions,one that's sealed to the front IP65 level, and the one described here that carries full IP65 sealing. What do the ratings mean? The "6" means both versions are totally protected against dust. It's the highest solids rating a device can get. The second number indicates protection against liquids. A "5" means the device is protected against water sprayed from all direction, with limited ingress permitted. That's generally good enough if a computer is just occasionally subjected to rain or splashing.

External I/0: IP65 Configurations

The extra protection means some compromises as it is not possible to offer the full complement of standard I/O that's usually present in a Panel PC. So whereas the front IP65 version offers a standard I/O panel in its back, the IP65 version has special waterproof M25 type of connectors with screw-on caps.
The Winmate G-Win waterproof IP65 model came with four special, waterproof ports that required screw-on adapter cables to provide external connectivity. The plugs are special 10-pin models that themselves offer IP68 sealing. For Panel PC, The unit provides input 9-36 V DC, Gigabit LAN, COM and USB waterproof ports.
